This girl... is sooo ready to fly.
I'm not sure I'm ready to release.
But the days are coming quickly at me.
And I'm running out of time because I know,
I can't hold her back.

So love everything about this capture.
Her free spirit especially, captured on film.
A precious moment captured in time.
Love that, her and her spirit.

Shooting into the light.
I'll never forget this day...
Kitty and I found a little clearing in our forest.
It was cold and moody but the light coming through was breathless.
I captured some incredible moments on this day.
There is something special about being strategic and intentional
and it's usually when we find our magic.

My hubby always says... "good things happen when you step out of the door".

Today was one of those days.

Trains are a big part of my family history.
Even Digby's family.  Our forefathers used to work the railways.
We grew up hearing so many Railway Stories about life on the rails.
Train commuting was such a big part of my parents and grandparent's life,
taking long train trips up middle-Africa to school.
It was part of English colonialism at it's finest.

It's not as glamorous as that here anymore.
But when I lived in the UK - I got to experience that first hand.
I still love the sound of a passing train,
and train trips are still one of my favourite ways to commute.

This beautiful tree is in our garden.
And I absolutely love her.  When she flowrs - it's the entire bush in one go.
But her little blossoms only last around 3 days.
She's evergreen and she flowrs all year through when there are little bursts of cooler weather or rain.  Sometimes I walk outside and she takes my breath away when she's unexpectedly completely covered in pink blossoms.

Just a delightful little thing in my life.

My little garden...

It really is a postage stamp.  It's a little wild but I kind of love it.
The trees and bushes are old and the whole property is surrounded by green shrubbery.
I've put little stepping stones wherever I would like to walk and the grass is on and off growing but it's my mission this year to get stuck in there and make her perfect.
It's going to be a big job so I'm going to have to chip away at it.

But for now... she's cute!

Contemplating my year past and thinking about the year ahead.
Hoping that this is a mark of things to come.
To go slower and to take the {time}...
My one word for 2016.
